We refinish solid hardwood, engineered hardwood with at least a 3mm wear layer, and parquet across Charleston, SC - including a lot of the original heart pine and oak still underfoot in historic downtown Charleston homes. Once your floor is sanded back to raw wood, the stain options open up - whitewashed, natural, grey, fumed, classic mid-tone oak, or a rich espresso. We bring sample boards stained in your actual wood species so you can judge them under your home's own light. Top coats range from matte to satin to semi-gloss, in water-based (low odor, fast cure) or oil-based polyurethane.
A 99% dustless process
Our sanders connect to commercial HEPA vacuums that capture nearly all the dust at the source, and we run plastic containment between rooms on top of that. The dust cloud homeowners brace for basically doesn't happen. You can stay in the house through the project - we just block off the rooms actively being worked. If a room also needs repair work first, we diagnose it during the in-home estimate and quote the smallest fix that solves it.

Water-based polyurethane is walkable in 4-6 hours and fully cured in about 7 days. Oil-based needs roughly 24 hours before light foot traffic and 14-30 days to fully cure. We schedule around your life.
Surface water marks usually sand out completely. Deep black staining where water sat for weeks may need a board replaced before we refinish. We can tell you which it is during the in-home visit.
Yes - a full sanding takes the floor back to raw wood, and we can stain it any modern color, including grey, whitewash, espresso, or a fumed European look. We'll test stains on your actual floor before you commit to one.
