We start with a full subfloor inspection - any deflection, moisture, or unevenness gets corrected before a single tile goes down. We use modified thinset mortars rated for the tile size, back-butter large-format tiles for full coverage, and set leveling clips on planks and large rectangles to eliminate lippage. Showers are built with proper waterproofing membranes, sloped pre-pitch mortar beds, and properly bonded curbs.
Every job finishes with sealed grout (or epoxy grout on request) and a walk-through before we consider it done. If you're weighing wall coverage too, our wall tile team handles backsplashes and shower surrounds on the same visit.

Tile Flooring - frequently asked questions
Most rooms take 2-3 days: day one for demo and prep, day two for setting tile, day three for grouting and sealing. Showers and large-format installs can add another day or two.
On plywood subfloors and any heated floor, yes - it prevents cracked tile and grout from substrate movement. On concrete slabs it's optional, though we still recommend it in wet areas.
Sometimes - if the existing tile is solidly bonded, level, and the added height won't cause door clearance issues. Otherwise we remove the old tile and start with a flat subfloor.
Standard cement grout will eventually stain if it isn't sealed. We seal all grout on install day, and we offer stain-proof epoxy grout as an upgrade in kitchens and showers.
